Our Land
About the Farm
2 acres in Cane Creek Valley, stewarded with care and reciprocity
Moonbeam Blooms Flower Farm was established in 2025 and is owned and operated by Jessica Stark. Jessica spent five years cultivating soil and growing flowers before the natural evolution of founding the flower farm. Jessica is the farm manger and full time farmer, and also leads the artistic vision choosing color pallets, textures, and blooms to grow as she composes a new beautiful melodic flower symphony each season to create her floral design aesthetic.
Read her story of rooting the farm and farming practices into reciprocal relationship with the land.
I am honored to be stewarding 2 acres of land in the Cane Creek Valley. We are tucked along the French Broad River watershed just 15 minutes south of downtown Asheville, NC on Tsalaguwetiyi land.
Tending to this hyper local ecosystem the past 6 years has transformed my relationship with the earth. Participating in nature's rhythms and slowing down has helped me to notice and collect small gems of wisdom. It’s amazing what is possible when I am attentively listening and learning from what Mother Earth freely teaches and gifts us.
Through a mix of hands-on education from an array of brilliant educators across WNC, and my own real world trial and error learning as I go, I dug deep into the research and began cultivating better practices of land stewardship to foster a more reciprocal relationship to the native ecosystem instead of an extractive one. Extractive farming practices also abound and look like taking from the land without considering the cost to the soil, the environment, or the future, and not reciprocally feeding the system and tending to it in return or honoring the land and it’s history and sovereignty. Extractive farming is something I am divesting from.
A reciprocal relationship to nature and regenerative agricultural principles guide how we farm at Moonbeam Blooms. We are also cultivating food sovereignty and abundance by planting fruit bushes & trees, growing medicinal herbs, incorporating food forest and permaculture principles, etc.
And it is these years tending land that led to discovering a deep passion and pure joy for the art of growing flowers and floral design! The flowers going out to spread love, beauty, and mindfulness, are little beauties I have lovingly helped coax into being. I get to touch each part of the process and imbue the soil and plants with love before the blooms ever make their way to you!
I have been sowing the seeds of this dream with love and the whispers of desire thrumming in my heart. I have been watering it with slow, purposeful, intention. I have been building soil and deepening roots. And that intention has led to this dream reaching its next natural step of the lifecycle. I am excited, humbled, and so grateful for this flower farm dream to blossom into reality! I can’t wait to share my contagious love of all these Moonbeam Blooms with you!
